In June 2022, some of the leading experts at the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit outlined the cybersecurity industry鈥檚聽, illustrating a vastly evolving mixture of threat targets as well as threat types. There鈥檚 an obvious relationship between these clearly defined trends and why we鈥檙e seeing the聽聽of what is now being coined 鈥渕anaged extended detection and response鈥� (MXDR) firms.
It turns out this MXDR label is really a result of the need to illustrate that the old way of being a managed security service provider (MSSP) no longer addresses the threat trends we鈥檙e seeing highlighted at the world鈥檚 top cybersecurity knowledge-sharing venues.
